Porsche joins the on-trend Black Edition squad, with dark details added to the Taycan and Cayenne ranges.

Porsche has used the Goodwood Festival of Speed to announce Black Edition variants of the Taycan sedan and the Cayenne in both SUV and coupe guise.
As the name suggests, the two special edition models will be fitted with a range of black interior and exterior details, but unlike fully pre-configured models, Porsche still offers a wide range of personalisation on its Black Edition cars.
The Taycan Black Edition will come fitted with Porsche’s Sport Design body kit package, and gloss black on the side window trims, door mirrors, and rear badging.
A black interior accent package (with black detailing on the steering wheel, air vent surrounds, front and rear door trim strips, and more), and black-brushed aluminium door scuff plates are also included.
The Taycan and Taycan 4 also come with the larger 105kWh Performance Battery Plus, which is normally an option, in place of the standard 82kWh unit. Power gets a slight boost from 300kW to 320kW in the base Taycan, and the range rating improves from 566km to 651km.
Other Taycan Black Edition features include black smooth leather trim (though alternatives can be optioned), the storage package, and Electric Sport Sound driving sound effects. The Taycan also features a ‘Black Edition’ centre console badge.
Differing from the inclusions offered in international markets, the Australian-delivered Taycan Black Edition also adds rear privacy tint, a tyre repair kit, head-up display, adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist, rear side airbags, comfort access keyless entry, digital radio and steering wheel heating.
The Taycan 4S picks up soft-close doors and four-zone climate control, while the Taycan and Taycan 4 add the Sport Chrono package.
The Cayenne Black Edition models offer a similar range of changes with Sport Design styling, black badging, window trims, and mirrors and a bushed-black aluminium interior appearance package.
Australian-specific touches include a head-up display, Porsche InnoDrive adaptive cruise control, digital radio, and a 20-inch collapsible spare tyre (petrol models) or tyre repair kit (E-Hybrid models), plus front seat ventilation on the Cayenne S E-Hybrid.
Both models come equipped with matrix LED headlights (tinted on Cayenne), 21-inch alloy wheels with a full-colour Porsche crest, LED door projectors with the Porsche logo, and the Porsche crest on the headrests.
Porsche will offer the Taycan Black Edition in Jet Black Metallic, Volcano Grey Metallic, Dolomite Silver Metallic and Ice Grey Metallic and the Cayenne in Quartzite Grey Metallic, Vanadium Grey Metallic, Dolomite Silver Metallic and Carrara White Metallic at no extra cost.
The full range of Legends, Dreams, and Contrasts paint colours are available as cost options, and Porsche’s Paint to Sample and Paint to Sample Plus programs are still open to order.
Additionally, the black leather interior can be swapped for Slate Grey or an available two-tone option, depending on the vehicle.
If the standard Black Edition isn’t enough, an extended Black Edition package adds Black Edition decals on the front doors, illuminated door scuff plates, and a Black Edition key pouch.
Porsche also provides a Sonderwunsch (special request) program for further personalisation of items like the vehicle key, floor mats, owner’s manual folder, console lid, and more.
Australian deliveries for the Black Edition models are expected to start at the end of 2025.
