Volkswagen Australia has brought to market the Polo CityLife, a special-edition variant of the city hatchback that adds unique equipment for $32,790 before on-road costs.

Splitting the difference between the entry-level Life and penultimate Style grades, the Polo is the third model in VW’s line-up to receive the CityLife treatment, following the T-Cross and T-Roc.

As such, it also scores variant-specific tailgate badging like the T-Cross and T-Roc versions, but also a number of high-end features that were previously locked away in higher, more expensive grades or an option pack.

Namely, the CityLife features dual-zone climate control, rear privacy glass, 16-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry, semi-autonomous parking system, blind-spot monitoring, and pre-collision detection system.

This equipment is in addition to the standard fitment of LED headlights, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, automatic wipers, an 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless smartphone charger, and 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with digital radio and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto support.

Powering the CityLife is the same 1.0-litre turbo-petrol three-cylinder engine as the Polo Life and Style variants, punching out 85kW/200Nm to the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The Polo CityLife will arrive in Volkswagen Australia showrooms from November.
