One of the most technologically advanced cars on the road can be yours for about $25 a day, and Tesla wants to help you make the switch.

The Australian launch of Tesla’s semi-autonomous Full Self-Driving Supervised (FSD-S) functionality has placed the American brand back on the radar of tech-savvy buyers looking to move to an electric vehicle.
And for the rest of September, Tesla wants to encourage the switch by offering a $3000 trade-in bonus on any new or demonstrator Model 3 sedan.
Priced from $54,900 before options and on-road costs, the entry-level Tesla Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive features a 62.5kWh battery and is rated for up to 520km of driving range.
The FSD-S software adds $10,100 to the price, and brings the Model 3 to approximately $70,725 on the road in Victoria.
Buyers able to leverage the Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) exemption for electric vehicles when purchasing through a novated lease can have a ‘supervised’ self-driving Tesla in the driveway for around $760 per month (60-month term, at 7.6 per cent interest), which is about $25 per day.
For more context, if financing over a three-year period, the cost will be about $1150 per month, making an FSD-S-equipped Model 3 roughly the same cost as a Hyundai i30 Sedan N Line.
The $3000 trade-in bonus is applied to any assessed value of your trade-in vehicle, with full details available on the Tesla website.
The offer applied to any new or demonstrator Model 3 sedan, including the $64,900 (MSRP) Tesla Model 3 Long Range and $80,900 (MSRP) Tesla Model 3 Performance. Buyers wanting to purchase a Tesla Model Y SUV can receive a $2000 trade-in bonus.
The Full Self-Driving (Supervised) technology requires a fully-licensed and attentive driver to be in full control of the vehicle at all times, but can drive, stop, turn and navigate the Tesla with minimal physical input from the driver.
While this feature is currently a $10,100 option on top of any new Tesla Model 3 or Model Y, the brand notes that the functionality will soon be available as a monthly $149 subscription.
