2026 KGM Actyon price and specs: Pioneering SsangYong SUV nameplate returns to local showrooms

KGM Australia, formerly KGM SsangYong, will launch the first model under its new name later this year, with the Actyon coupe-SUV returning to local showrooms after a 14-year hiatus.

The original 2005 Actyon is credited with starting the sloped-roof SUV trend, a body style popularised by the likes of the BMW X6 and Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe, and the new 2026 version stays true to its roots.

Based on the Torres platform, the Actyon mid-size SUV measures 4740mm long, 1920mm wide, 1680mm tall and has a 2680mm wheelbase – making it slightly bigger than a Toyota RAV4.

Two versions of the Actyon will be available – the K50 priced at $47,000 drive-away and the K60 positioned at $50,000.

Powering both is a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, which produces 120kW/280Nm – the same outputs as the Torres.

Paired to the engine is a six-speed automatic transmission, rated with a fuel consumption figure of 7.6 litres per 100km.

However, KGM is yet to detail if the Aussie variants are front- or all-wheel drive.

Standard equipment includes 20-inch alloy wheels, LED exterior lighting, a powered tailgate, rear privacy glass, dual 12.3-inch displays for the infotainment and digital instrument cluster, leather seats, heated front and rear outboard seats, a heated steering wheel, and dual-zone climate control.

Stepping up to the top-spec K60 adds a surround-view monitor, panoramic sunroof, rear-window sun blinds, and a wireless smartphone charger.

As for safety, the latest driver-assistance suite is standard, which includes autonomous emergency braking (AEB), front and rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, tyre pressure monitoring, and automatic high beams.

Despite the sloped roofline, the Actyon can still accommodate 668 litres of volume in the boot, expandable to 1568L with the rear seats folded.
