The 2026 Chevrolet Corvette, which is set to enter series production for the US market next month, has been given an Australian launch window.

Delivery of the first of the updated vehicles is set to kick off in Australia in January 2026, bringing a range of design changes as seen on the North American model.

The new Corvette will arrive in Australia and New Zealand in Stingray R Launch Edition guise, featuring a carbon-fibre roof, 20-spoke 19-inch front and 20-inch rear gloss black forged alloy wheels with red striping, and a Stingray R build plate.

Other features like Stingray R wheel centre caps, black rocker panel skirts and exhaust tips, carbon-fibre-look badges, exterior trim, mirrors and rear spoiler, carbon-fibre interior trim, red brake calipers, Jet Black nappa leather seats, and Torch Red seatbelts.

The Singray R will be available in a choice of Blade Silver, Torch Red, or Arctic White exterior colours.

Limited to a run of 50 vehicles, the Stingray R will be priced from $235,000 plus on-road costs.

GMSV Australia has said details for the pricing and specifications of the wider Corvette range, including Stingray, E-Ray, and Z06 variants, will be announced later in 2025.

The Stingray R is based on the Stingray 3LT package, which currently starts from $201,990 plus on-road costs as a 2025 model, suggesting a price rise for the regular lineup could arrive as the rest of the range is announced.

Headlining the changes for the 2026 Corvette is a redesigned interior that sees the cabin-dividing centre spine removed, and interior controls laid out in a more traditional horizontal layout across the dash.

A new three-screen wide-format layout has replaced the previous 8.0-inch infotainment screen and 12-inch digital instrument display.

All 2026 Corvettes now feature a 12.7-inch infotainment display, a 14-inch instrument screen, and a 6.6-inch display to the right of the instruments, used for quick access to trip data, traction management, and head-up display settings.

The 2026 Corvette will also introduce connected services, including Google built-in features, over-the-air updates, and smartphone app connectivity.

Other 2026 Corvette changes see the console revised with a drive mode toggle in place of the previous rotary dial, easier-to-access cup holders, and a wireless charge that has been moved from the back of the console, between the seats, to up front below the infotainment screen.

GMSV has not confirmed Australian specifications for the 6.2-litre V8 that powers the Corvette Stingray, but with no changes expected to North American models, it appears likely Australian versions will follow suit and keep 369kW and 637Nm outputs.
