2025 Volkswagen Amarok price and specs: New features and variants for updated ute range

The Volkswagen Amarok ute has been updated for 2025 with new model grades, a cab-chassis option, and additional features, due in showrooms in the second half of this year.

RRPs are unchanged – with the exception of the slow-selling petrol Amarok Aventura, which has been given a $3000 cut – but the nationwide drive-away offers have risen by up to $3000 over the run-out deals on the Model Year 2024 (MY24) range.

Prices start from $55,990 drive-away nationwide for the single-turbo diesel four-cylinder Core, and stretch up to $82,990 drive-away for the flagship V6 diesel Aventura.

Joining the range for 2025 is the 10 Deserts Edition, a four-cylinder bi-turbo diesel off-road variant based on the Life, inspired by an Amarok that set a Guinness World Record covering Australia's 10 deserts last year.

Priced from $68,490 plus on-road costs, or $69,990 drive-away, it will be limited to 300 examples nationwide.

It adds a 40mm suspension lift, 17-inch black alloy wheels, Continental all-terrain tyres, Volkswagen genuine underbody protection, a black sports bar, soft tonneau cover, all-weather floor mats, and 10 Deserts branding.

Meanwhile, buyers can now order alternatives to the body-coloured tub for the first time on a standard-length Amarok since 2019.

A 132kg steel tray is offered on Core, Life and Style models for $4000 – or on other grades as a dealer-fit accessory – as well as a heavier-duty 243kg version, also through dealers.

The trays measure 1900mm long on the outside, and 1650mm long by 1835mm wide on the inside.

New on the Style, PanAmericana and Aventura is a pair of 230-volt power outlets – one in the rear centre console, and one in the tub – plus a 400-watt inverter to power electrical devices on the move.

These model grades also add a Trailer Assist feature, intended to make connecting and reversing trailers easier.

Elsewhere, Reed Green Metallic paint has replaced Mid Blue Metallic, previously the hero colour for the Amarok Aventura.

There remains a choice of four engines: a 125kW/405Nm 2.0-litre single-turbo diesel four-cylinder, 154kW/500Nm 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel four-cylinder, 184kW/600Nm 3.0-litre single-turbo diesel V6, and 222kW/452Nm 2.3-litre single-turbo petrol four-cylinder.

The single-turbo four-cylinder is the only one mated to a six-speed automatic transmission – the others paired with 10-speed autos – while V6 and petrol four-cylinder models can be driven in four-wheel drive on sealed roads.

All models have four doors and five seats, and can tow up to 3500kg braked.

The 2025 Volkswagen Amarok range will be "progressively ... introduced into dealerships during the second half of 2025," the brand says.
