Special-edition Shadow Edition grade of BMW X5 now available in Australia, upping standard specification but also price.

BMW Australia has rolled out yet another Shadow Edition limited-edition variant, this time for its top-selling X5 large SUV.
Based on the xDrive30d grade, which retails for $137,600 before on-road costs in xLine or M Sport trim, the X5 Shadow Edition is priced $9300 upstream at $146,900.
This also makes it pricier than the $141,600 xDrive40i M Sport, but BMW Australia has added a number of specification changes to justify the price.
The 2025 X5 Shadow Edition is fitted with 21-inch V-spoke M bi-colour alloy wheels – the first time they are available in Australia, BMW claims – as well as the M Sport Pro Package and red-painted brake callipers.
That M Sport Pro Package is also available the M Sport version of the xDrive30d, priced at $2308 and adds a body kit and darkened exterior accents on the window line, front grille, and headlights, as well as M-branded exhaust, leather steering wheel, and seat belts.
Inside, the X5 Shadow Edition also scores a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system (borrowed from the top-spec X5 M60i), crystal-like Crafted Clarity cut glass interior elements, carbon-fibre trim, rear privacy glass, and an Alcantara headliner.
Exterior colour options with the Shadow Edition extends to M Carbon Black, Black Sapphire, Mineral White or Dravit Grey.
Powering the X5 Shadow Edition is the same 3.0-litre turbo-diesel inline six-cylinder engine as the xDrive30d, producing 210kW and 650Nm.
Drive is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission for a claimed zero to 100km/h acceleration time of 6.1 seconds.
The latest X5 Shadow Edition follows versions offered with the 3 Series in 2017, 1 Series in 2019, and X7 in 2020.
BMW Australia has also recently rolled out special-edition Sport Collection versions of the 1 Series and X1.
