All-new styling and a new infotainment system are on the way for Hyundai's popular sedan.
The new-generation Hyundai i30 Sedan has been spotted testing in alpine conditions, ahead of its unveiling later this year and expected Australian showroom arrival in 2027.
The 2027 version of Hyundai's popular small car wears new bodywork and will be one of the first models with the manufacturer's new Pleos Connect infotainment system.
Disguise obscures most of the car, but the spy photos show all-new bodywork, with a different front end adopting split headlights similar to the Hyundai Grandeur luxury sedan sold exclusively in Korea.
Also clear is a fresh external mirror design, as well as changes to the roof and window design.
The 2027 i30 Sedan is expected to ride on the current model's 'K3' platform, which it shares with the Hyundai Kona small SUV and Kia K4 hatch and sedan.
The engine is likely to match the K4, with a choice of 2.0-litre non-turbo petrol four-cylinder or 1.6-litre turbo-petrol choices.
A 1.6-litre hybrid option is also expected to be available, while the new N high-performance variant is predicted to use a 2.5-litre turbo engine, based on what is used in the Santa Fe SUV and Sonata N Line sedan.
Hyundai's new Pleos Connect infotainment system is said to be featured in the next generation, which will reportedly bring a 17-inch display and a 9.9-inch instrument cluster.
It follows the market towards larger touchscreens for most of the vehicle's controls, but Hyundai has committed to continuing to include physical buttons, with earlier spy photos showing traditional switches for air-conditioning and media functions.
The current-generation Hyundai i30 Sedan has been on sale in Australia since late 2020, with the new model due to be unveiled later this year and expected to be in showrooms in 2027.
