Australia’s best-selling plug-in hybrid vehicle has introduced a $3000 cashback incentive program for a limited time.
BYD has introduced a $3000 cashback incentive on the Shark 6 plug-in hybrid dual-cab ute.
With just one variant of the Shark 6 in Australia, the $3000 cashback offer applies post-purchase to the final on-the-road price of the $57,900 plus on-road Shark 6 Premium, not as a discount.
The $3000 cashback offer is available on eligible Shark 6s ordered between January 1 and January 31, 2026 and delivered before February 28, 2026.
The offer is available to newly ordered vehicles during the promotional period, and excludes demonstrator stock and vehicles purchased by fleets, government, and rental buyers.
The BYD Shark 6 finished 2025 as Australia’s most popular plug-in hybrid vehicle, selling 18,073 units, ahead of the BYD Sealion 6 medium SUV (9055 units) and Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV (4110 sales).
In the 4x4 Ute Under $100K class, the Shark 6 finished fourth overall, behind the Ford Ranger (53,694), Toyota HiLux (43,661), and Isuzu D-Max (21,085).
Among plug-in hybrid utes, the Shark 6 led the GWM Cannon Alpha PHEV (1371 units) and Ford Ranger PHEV (1143 units) for full-year 2025 figures, with each model introduced at different times throughout 2025.
