Now sneaking under the Luxury Car Tax threshold, the 2027 Genesis GV60 is eligible for a Fringe Benefits Tax exemption for eligible customers.

The long-awaited 2026 Genesis GV60 electric SUV will finally arrive in Australian showrooms this June, equipped with revised styling, a bigger battery, and a significant price cut.
Only one variant will be available from mid-year, the Advanced RWD priced from $88,300 before on-road costs, with the performance-honed Magma AWD grade expected later in 2026.
This brings the point of entry to the GV60 line-up down around $15,000, but the outgoing AWD and AWD Performance grades were dual-motor all-wheel-drive models.
Genesis notes that the new GV60 “falls below the applicable LCT [luxury car tax] and FBT [fringe benefits tax]-exemption thresholds”, allowing novated lease customers a discount.
First revealed in early 2025 and eyeing a third-quarter (July to September) release last year, the updated GV60 will arrive nearly 12 months later than planned with its key differentiator being a larger 84kWh battery.
It enables the new Genesis GV60 Advanced RWD to claim a WLTP-rated driving range of 561km, which compares to the 470km quoted for the outgoing AWD grade.
However, losing the second electric motor means outputs in the new car drop to 168kW/350Nm.
For comparison, the old AWD produced a combined 234kW/605Nm, while the Performance AWD punched out 360kW/700Nm.
Underpinned by 800-volt E-GMP architecture allows the 2027 GV60 to charge its battery from 10 to 80 per cent capacity in a claimed 18 minutes, on a 350kW DC fast-charger.
Genesis also states the new car features improved battery conditioning that “optimises fast-charging performance, even at low temperatures”.
From the outside, the 2027 GV60 is distinguished by new-look 19-inch wheels, as well as body-coloured wheel-arch cladding and an updated front bumper design with Full Micro Lens Array LED headlights.
Inside, the new GV60 scores Genesis’ new 27-inch OLED widescreen display that incorporates the digital instrument cluster and infotainment touchscreen.
The 2027 GV60 also features a Digital Key 2.0 that lets owners lock or unlock doors and start the vehicle from a smartphone or smartwatch.
A full suite of safety features carries over to the new GV70, including 10 airbags, autonomous emergency braking, a surround-view monitor, and adaptive cruise control that has allowed it to retain a five-star ANCAP rating.
The GV60’s full specification list can be found below, with the only option available to buyers matte paint for $4000.
