Rally driver, extreme athlete and viral-video legend, Travis Pastrana, will undertake a special ‘Hoonigan’ project at the 2025 Bathurst 1000.
The iconic Mount Panorama in Bathurst will form the backdrop for a ‘special project’ by American stunt-driver Travis Pastrana and his Hoonigan production team.
Pastrana will be on-site at the 2025 Bathurst 1000 motorsport event this week (9-12 October, 2025) to create a ‘special project collaboration’ with Hoonigan, the race team and media company founded by the late fellow driver, Ken Block.
Originally a freestyle motocross rider, Pastrana won numerous gold medals at the X Games and co-founded the Nitro Circus freestyle motocross stunt show. He began driving for Subaru Rally Team USA in 2006 and competed in the WRC (World Rally Championship) with Subaru in 2007 and 2008.
Not content with rally, he has also competed in NASCAR, GT endurance racing, Extreme-E electric off-road racing and even offshore powerboat competition.
His attempt earlier this year to complete the world’s first 360-degree stunt in the ‘Huckster’ did not go as planned as the car flipped soon after leaving the ice-ramp on a frozen lake in Minnesota.
According to a news update by the Supercars Championship, who are running the 2025 Repco Bathurst 1000, “The special Bathurst project will involve Pastrana, cars, and, according to HOONIGAN, "something fans are going to love.”
As to which car Pastrana will be driving, there are no official details available at the time of publishing, but according to Australian motorsports publisher, Speedcafe, the circuit will be closed for production on Wednesday, 8 October, with the new Toyota Supra Supercar making its Mount Panorama debut as part of some on-track action where nearly all Supercars teams will be involved.
Pastrana was in Australia in March 2025, competing for Team USA in the 2025 Race of Champions, and his Hoonigan Gymkhana videos have attracted over 100 million views on YouTube.
