Playmobil has released a set of four cartoonishly cute automotive collectibles that will appeal to young hearts, regardless of age.

Ferrari only made 36 of its iconic 250 GTO coupe between 1962 and 1964, and as one of the most expensive collector cars in the world ($A81m record), it’s fair to say most of us want own one.

So why not opt for something a bit smaller, cheaper and just that little bit cuter, by way of the new Playmobil X collector series?

The kits have between 25 and 31 pieces to assemble, and each come with a figurine and other accessories.

Despite the compact proportions (each model is approximately 40cm long, 15cm wide and 15cm tall), the Playmobil cars are surprisingly detailed and sure to delight children (and adults) of all ages.

These are not the first licensed ‘real cars’ that Playmobil has offered, with the brand previously creating a miniature Tom Selleck and Ferrari 308 GTS for a Magnum PI themed set, there have been a range of Porsche models, along with classic Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen and even Citroen kits.

The new Playmobil X series sets are priced from £25 ($A50) in the UK, but aren't due to hit Australian stores until February 2026. The local distributor noted they won't be arriving in huge numbers, so if you are keen, make sure you get in early!
