The JAC T9 ute range sees new variants added to the top and bottom of the range to meet the needs of tradies and lifestyle buyers.
JAC will expand the line-up of the T9 ute range with four new variants, up from the two models which currently comprise the range.
Aimed at greater customisation for work use, the T9 Tradepro and T9 Oasis cab-chassis models are the first JAC T9 models in Australia without a factory-fitted tub.
The cab-chassis models promise a 1165kg payload, excluding tray, allowing the flexibility to add customised toolboxes, tray bodies, or other equipment.
A 1910mm x 1800mm aluminium drop-side tray will be fitted as standard, with 250mm sides and a mesh headboard, with heavy-duty and steel tray bodies to be added to JAC’s genuine accessory range later.
Accessories, including tool boxes and ladder racks, will also be available.
Tradepro enters as a new variant to the range, below the Oasis model, which previously opened the range.
At the other end of the scale, JAC will add the Osprey and Osprey X, based on the range-topping T9 Oasis, but equipped with a power sunroof and new ‘premium’ suspension tune.
The Osprey and Osprey X are equipped with a ute tub, and the lower 980kg payload (instead of the 1045kg capacity of the Oasis and Haven utes), designed to sit under the one-tonne load-carrying limit for novated lease customers.
The T9 Osprey mirrors the equipment of the T9 Haven, while the Osprey X adds a black-pack styling makeover with black alloy wheels, black in place of chrome on the grille badge and exterior, and black finishes for the door-handles, mirror housings, and side vents.
As with the current JAC T9 range, the new additions will be powered by a 125kW/410Nm 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine, an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, and BorgWarner-supplied dual-range 4x4 system.
Full pricing and specifications for the T9 Tradepro CC, T9 Oasis CC, T9 Opsprey, and T9 Osprey X models will be revealed closer to their introduction in November 2025.

"The success of our T9 Dual-Cab 4X4 has shown that Australians appreciate the combination of safety, capability, reliability, and great value that JAC delivers," JAC Motors Australia Managing Director, Ahmed Mahmoud, said.
"These four fantastic new T9 family members expand the T9’s appeal for customers with specific requirements – whether that's the ultimate work platform or a desire for enhanced daily comfort."
To the end of September 2025, the JAC T9 4x4 range has sold 1256 units, making it the third slowest-selling dual-cab ute under $100,000, beating only the LDV Terron 9 (242 sales), which launched in August this year, and the Jeep Gladiator (282 sales YTD).
By comparison, Australia’s most popular 4x4 ute, the Ford Ranger, sold 39,729 units, outselling the JAC T9 by over 31 to 1,
Year-to-date sales of other Chinese utes, albeit with more comprehensive model ranges, saw the BYD Shark 6 plug-in hybrid lodge 14,111 sales, the GWM Cannon 4x4 recorded 5277 sales, along with 1820 units of the larger Cannon Alpha, while the LDV T60 range moved 3440 units.
