GMSV has rolled out if first five-year warranty on the Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck range, but leaves the Chevrolet Corvette and GMC Yukon vehicle lines capped at three years.

The move also sees minor price rises applied across the range.

The new five-year, unlimited kilometre warranty brings the Silverado in line with rivals, including the Ford F-150 and Toyota Tundra, both with standard five-year warranty terms.

The Silverado’s warranty comes with the proviso that it applies whether owners are “working, touring, or towing,” with no distance cap applied for vehicles used commercially.

Ford offers a similar warranty with no commercial conditions, but Toyota limits vehicles used commercially (including goods carrying, rental, or rideshare) to five years or 160,000km, while also providing up to two years additional engine warranty and five years additional hybrid battery warranty for vehicles that meet service requirements.

The GMSV five-year warranty applies to Silverado 1500 and Silverado 2500 HD models sold in Australia from October 1st, 2025, however the longer warranty will not be backdated to vehicles sold previously, which will retain their original three-year, 100,000km warranty.

The longer warranty term is also specific to the Silverado range at this time, meaning GMSV’s other vehicle lines, including the Chevrolet Corvette and GMC Yukon.

GMSV’s Cadillac vehicles launched in Australia with a similar five-year, unlimited kilometre warranty, and an additional eight-year, 160,000km EV battery warranty.

The five-year warranty is also accompanied by five years of roadside assistance available for breakdowns, flat battery or flat tyre assistance, towing, including for caravans and trailers, bogged vehicles (on gazetted roads), and includes provisions for taxis or emergency accommodation where required (cost caps apply).

Price rises accompanying the longer warranty see the Silverado 1500 LTZ price rise by $4000 to $134.500, the 1500 ZR2 increases by $3000 to $144,900, and the Silverado 2500 HD rises by $1500 to $168,000, all before on-road costs.
