Skoda Australia’s range-topping Kodiaq RS is due in local showrooms from November this year, priced at $69,990 before on-road costs, or $76,990 drive-away.
This puts it just $100 above the previous-generation model that was available for $76,890 drive-away last year, despite generational improvements to the powertrain, in-cabin technology, and packaging.
Powering the 2026 Kodiaq RS is, once again, a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, but its tune of 195kW/400Nm is 15kW/30Nm up than the outgoing car, and matches the Volkswagen Golf GTI hot hatch for power, but features 30Nm more torque.
With drive sent to all four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, the new Kodiaq RS cuts 0.3 seconds from the 0-100km/h acceleration claim to hit the landmark triple-digit figure in 6.3sec.
When compared with the before-on-road costs pricing of cheaper 140kW/320Nm Skoda Kodiaq variants, the RS is $25,000 pricier than the base Select ($54,990 before on-road costs) and $11,000 dearer than the Sportline ($58,990).
Aside from the powertrain upgrade, the flagship Kodiaq also comes equipped with 20-inch alloy wheels, adaptive suspension, dual exhaust tips, black-painted exterior accents, and red-painted brake callipers to distinguish it from its siblings.
The price premium also nets buyers matrix LED headlights, scrolling indicators, keyless entry, and a powered tailgate.
Inside, the Kodiaq RS stands apart thanks to sports seats, red-stitched interior, and a flat-bottom perforated leather steering wheel, while other features like tri-zone climate control, power-adjustable heated and cooled front seats, and heated rear outboard seats are also present.
Carrying over from more affordable Kodiaq grades is a 13-inch infotainment system with satellite navigation, digital radio, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while a 13-speaker Canton sound system, head-up display, and digital instrument cluster also feature.
For safety, the Kodiaq RS is equipped with adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking (AEB), front and rear cross-traffic alerts, traffic sign recognition, nine airbags, and more as standard.
