Ford has released full specifications of the Ranger Super Duty four-wheel-drive ute, before the vehicle is released onto the Australian market in 2026.

Following on from details including a 4500kg braked towing capacity and 8000kg Gross Combination Mass, Ford has now published full details of kerb weights, payloads, and axle load ratings of the various models available.

The heavy-duty nature of the Ford Ranger Super Duty – which includes a beefed up chassis, upgraded differentials and suspension, steel wheels, and larger tyres – means this heavy-duty Ranger is more than 300kg heavier than a regular Ford Ranger XLT with the same 3.0-litre diesel V6.

The Ford Ranger Super Duty single-cab has a minimum kerb weight of 2518kg, which grows to 2615kg for the Super Cab variant.

The double-cab version – with room for five occupants on-board – has a kerb weight of 2675kg.

However, a significant increase in the Gross Vehicle Mass up to 4500kg means the listed payload of the Ranger Super Duty is as good as 1982kg for the single cab variant without a tray or any additional accessories fitted.

All variants have a 130-litre fuel tank, but claimed fuel consumption figures are yet to be published.

The Ranger Super Duty Super Cab has a 1885kg payload, while the double-cab variant has a 1825kg payload.

These quoted figures are for a cab-chassis vehicle, without a tray fitted.

The Ford Ranger Super Duty also comes with an 8000kg Gross Combination Mass, to help underpin a 4500kg braked towing capacity.

Upgraded front and rear axle load ratings of 1900kg and 2800kg are also a big improvement over a regular Ford Ranger.

The Ford Ranger Super Duty also gets locking differentials front and rear, as well as an 850mm wading depth, snorkel, and 275/70 R18 (33-inch) tyres mounted onto 18-inch steel wheels.

Included in the accessories range is a heavy-duty steel tray, which is powder coated or galvanised, and uses a bolted-together construction. This is different to more common welded constructions, and is preferred by Ford for ‘chassis flexibility’.

The Super Duty tray includes 400kg tie down points, a headboard, and moulded mudguards, as well as mounting points designed to handle the big payloads available.

The Ford Ranger Super Duty also comes with an updated Diesel Particulate Filter system, which includes manual regeneration control.

Where other variants of Ford Ranger have a fully automatic DPF system, the system Ranger Super Duty can be toggled to operate at certain times by the user.

This is beneficial for certain off-road situations (including driving through long grass), where the high temperatures of a DPF burn-off can be avoided until a later time.

The Ford Ranger Super Duty will also be further supplemented by a range of ARB-sourced accessories like a Summit Bull Bar, Warn Winch, integrated device mounts inside the vehicle (for things like UHF radios and other equipment).

The workhorse model can also be optioned with accessory packs, including the Farm Pack, Work Pack and Adventure Pack. There is a wide range of pricing costs for these packs, depending on the body style of the Ranger Super Duty and the range of tray options available.

The Farm Pack includes a tray, water tank, tool box bull bar and all-weather floor mats. Costs vary between $12,045 and $16,148.

The Work Pack gets a tray, Integrated Device Mounting System inside the cabin, all-weather floor mats, a Top Console Mount, weather shields, and wheel nut indicators. Pricing for this pack varies between $8224 and $11,249

The Adventure Pack gets a Tray, floor mats, a Warn Winch and rock sliders, and is priced between $17961 and $21,294.

The 2026 Ford Ranger Super line-up will be available initially in one variant across three body styles, with prices ranging from $82,990 before on-road costs to $89,990.
