XPeng Australia is throwing in five years of free scheduled servicing with every new G6 electric car sold to try and clear old stock before the arrival of the facelifted model.

The Chinese brand values the maintenance period at $2064, with recommended service intervals every 12 months or 20,000km, and has also reduced the price of the optional extended 10-year vehicle and battery warranty from $4980 to $880.

As standard, the XPeng Australia vehicle warranty covers a five-year/120,000km period, while the battery and high-voltage components are covered for eight-years/160,000km, but the extended assurance period takes mileage up to 220,000km.

Prices for the G6 have not changed however, with the Standard Range grade available from $54,800 before on-road costs, and the flagship Long Range positioned at $59,800.

The former features a 66kWh lithium-iron phosphate battery with a WLTP-rated driving range of 435km.

The Long Range increases battery capacity and composition to 88kWh and nickel cobalt manganese (NCM) respectively, unlocking a 570km range rating.

With a single electric motor driving the rear wheels, the base XPeng G6 produces 190kW/440Nm, while the Long Range features a more potent 210kW/440Nm setup.

XPeng revealed an updated version of the G6 earlier this year in March, and has pencilled in an Australian arrival later this year with changes including a revised bumper, updated tail-light array, and larger 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen.

The most notable change however, is a change to battery sizing, with the Standard Range increasing to 68.5kWh but the Long Range dropping to 80.8kWh.

This year will also see the G9 large SUV and X9 people mover arrive in Australian XPeng showrooms.

While XPeng Australia does not report sales data, it's up against the best-selling Tesla Model Y and BYD Sealion 7 in the all-electric family SUV segment.

Tesla has sold 13,310 examples of its Model Y to the end of August this year, while BYD has found 6596 new homes for its Sealion 7 over the same period.

XPeng is running this promotion from September 1, 2025 to October 31, 2025, or "until allocation is exhausted".
