The Skoda Kodiaq plug-in hybrid is nearly ready to hit Australian shores, with the brand confirming local details.

The Skoda Kodiaq large SUV will add a plug-in hybrid specification in Australia in the first quarter of 2026.
Pricing has yet to be announced, but Skoda has confirmed that the base-model Select plug-in hybrid will sit between the internal-combustion Sportline ($61,990 drive away) and RS ($76,990 drive away) trim levels.
"The Kodiaq Select PHEV is the perfect complement to both our Kodiaq Sportline and Kodiaq RS, positioned in between both with an emphasis on style, technology and premium appointments," Skoda product manager Aline Carrullo said.
It will be powered by the same 1.5-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder fitted to smaller models such as the Volkswagen Golf, Skoda Fabia and Skoda Scala.
Petrol power is combined with a 85kW/330Nm electric motor, with compatibility of a 50kW DC fast charger or an 11kW AC home charger.
A claimed WLTP electric-only range of 112km puts it above other models in the segment, like the Mazda CX-80 and Kia Sorento.
To make way for the electric motor and equipment, the third row has been removed, and the Kodiaq PHEV will only be a five-seater.
With that in mind, the boot space has also been minimised compared to the petrol-only options, from 794 litres to 745 litres.
The Kodiaq PHEV will have an identical specification list to the Select, with 19-inch alloy wheels, a 13-inch infotainment touchscreen, heated front seats, a power driver's seat, tri-zone climate control, keyless entry, and heated/power-folding door mirrors.
The Select PHEV will be fitted with adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, a semi-autonomous highway driving system with emergency assist, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, lane-centring, autonomous emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, and nine airbags.
While the base-model Select is the only trim level offered for the PHEV so far, Skoda Australia has replaced the $8900 Launch Edition optional extra pack with a ‘Signature Package’ that will be available for petrol and hybrid Kodiaq Select variants.
This package will include eight-way massage front seats, a power-adjustable passenger seat with lumbar and memory, automatic parking, a 360-degree camera, matrix LED headlights, and an illuminated front grille.
It also adds a hands-free tailgate, a heated steering wheel, heated second-row seats, a head-up display, and scrolling rear indicators.
Pricing will be announced closer to the car’s launch in the first quarter of 2026, but based on its position in the line-up and international information, it’s likely to cost between $65,000 and $70,000 before on-road costs.
