KGM, the South Korean brand formerly known as SsangYong, has announced pricing and specifications for the 2026 KGM Rexton range.
Taking over from the KGM SsangYong Rexton, the new version largely carries over the mechanical specifications and styling of earlier iterations of the large off-road SUV, with minor running changes to the standard equipment list.
As before, the Rexton range comprises three variants – Rexton ELX, Rexton Advance (replacing the previous Rexton Adventure) and Rexton Ultimate – with the flagship also offering an optional Sport Pack that brings styling and trim changes.
Prices have risen by $2000 to $2600 for Model Year 2026, the range now opening with the ELX at $52,000 drive-away (up $2000).
New or updated equipment includes electric power steering (in place of hydraulic assist), allowing the addition of lane-keep assist.
Adaptive cruise control, new-design LED running lights, leather-look seat trim (replacing cloth), and sequential front and rear indicators have also been introduced for the 2026 model year.
Carry-over equipment includes 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, 12.3-inch infotainment and instrument screens, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, seven seats and dual-zone climate control.
The Rexton Advance adds rear door sunshades, and continues with eight-way power-adjustable front seats, heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, a heated steering wheel, keyless entry with walk-away lock, and a powered tailgate.
Pricing starts from $57,500 drive-away, a $2500 increase over the Rexton Adventure.
The flagship Rexton Ultimate grade – priced from $61,500 drive-away, up $2500 – now comes with a new wireless phone charger.
It joins existing equipment, including premium leather seats, third-row climate controls, rear auto up/down windows (in addition to front auto up/down on lower grades), ambient interior lights, a powered sunroof, rear privacy glass, and 360-degree parking cameras with 3D view.
The Rexton Ultimate with optional Sport Pack adds black leather and suede-look seats, suede-look trim on the doors and dash, and a gloss black steering wheel bezel as new additions.
Carry-over items include shadow chrome finishes on the grille, tailgate, bumpers, fog light surrounds and wheels, and black roof rails (in place of silver).
Pricing for the Rexton Ultimate now starts from $61,500 for the Ultimate and $64,200 for the Ultimate Sport Pack, both drive-away – increase of $2500 and $2600 respectively over the previous models.
Metallic paint is available for $700 on all grades, but is included in the price of the Sport Pack.
Mechanically, the Rexton retains the same 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel engine, eight-speed automatic, part-time 4x4 with an auto-locking rear differential, and up to 3500kg of braked towing capacity.
