Two one-off LandCruiser concepts have been unveiled ahead of Field Style Tokyo 2026, giving the popular Toyota Prado and 76 Series slight visual tweaks rather than previewing upcoming model updates.

Toyota's LandCruiser Base division is responsible for the builds, but has not shared any technical specifications yet, simply showing cosmetic changes to the SUVs known as Urban Style.

The division is known for building show vehicles where it partners with lifestyle brands for accessories. It also has a role in the GR Heritage Parts Program, producing discontinued components and accessories for classic LandCruisers.

The 76 Series LandCruiser, called Urban Heritage Style, wears a beige paint job that extends to the wheels wrapped in Yokohama all-terrain tyres, complemented by black and grey stripes down the side of the vehicle – borrowed from the 1980s.

Toyota says the name pays homage to the model's agricultural heritage, but the concept can still fend for itself in the city without being compromised when it heads back off the beaten track.

The LandCruiser 250 Series model, known as the Prado in Australia, is the more urban-leaning of the two, with a matte-grey body colour, and gloss-black roof, pillars, plastic cladding, mirror caps, rear bumper, and tailgate.

There are also dark metallic 20-inch alloy wheels.

While Toyota has not detailed powertrain specifications on the two show cars, in Australia, the entire 70 Series line-up features a 150kW/500Nm 2.8-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine, paired to either a six-speed automatic or five-speed manual transmission.

There is also a mechanical transfer case for part-time four-wheel drive, with front and rear differential locks on GXL grades.

The Prado shares the same engine in Australia, but gains 48-volt mild-hybrid assistance and is matched to an eight-speed torque converter automatic with full-time four-wheel drive.

Field Style Tokyo 2026 expo will be held between 9-10 May in Japan, where the Urban Style Cruiser concepts will be shown to the public for the first time. The division has confirmed the concepts will not go into production.
