The updated 2026 Zeekr X electric SUV is even cheaper than the previous model than anticipated, with final prices confirmed at the Melbourne motor show in recent days.

The Zeekr X rear-wheel drive (RWD) is priced from $48,900 drive-away nationwide, down $5565 to $8113 compared to the outgoing model, and lower than an earlier forecast of "under $50,000" supplied by Zeekr.

The all-wheel-drive will start from $57,900 drive-away, $9826 to $12,987 less than before, and lower than the estimate of "under $60,000 drive-away".

Zeekr's smallest electric model is now cheaper than the regular drive-away prices for the Kia EV3 Air and BYD Atto 3 Premium.

The Chinese brand will offer customers who pre-order before 31 May 2026 any exterior and interior colour combination at no extra charge, plus a 7kW home charger, and two years of additional vehicle warranty and roadside assistance (for seven in total).

AWD customers will also receive power-operated front doors at no extra cost, usually a $2000 option.

Zeekr is also offering existing X customers a $3000 bonus for trading in their vehicle for a new one, or "$3000 additional purchase support on a new Zeekr X".

The updated Zeekr X RWD gains a 50kW more powerful electric motor, now 250kW, paired with a new 61kWh lithium iron phosphate battery for a claimed 405km WLTP driving range.

Its all-wheel-drive variant combines a 115kW front and 250kW rear motor for a combined 365kW output, up from 315kW, from an existing 66kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt battery for a claimed 415km WLTP range.

The RWD model will complete the sprint from zero to 100km/h in a claimed 5.6 seconds, while the more powerful AWD cuts that down to 3.7 seconds.

The 2026 Zeekr X claims to cut the DC fast charging time by approximately 12 minutes for the rear-wheel drive model, now 18 minutes at up to 230kW DC, while the AWD is unchanged at 30 minutes from 10 to 80 per cent at up to 150kW.

Standard features include a 14.6-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, a 13-speaker Yamaha premium sound system, and six-way power-adjustable front seats with heating and ventilation.

Its suite of safety features includes seven airbags, a built-in dashcam, autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane centring, assisted lane changes, blind-spot monitoring, and front and rear cross-traffic alert.

Also standard are front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera and automatic parking.

Orders for the 2026 Zeekr X are now open via the brand's website.
