The first electric vehicle from Suzuki in Australia is close in price to its petrol equivalent, but more expensive than rivals from China.
Electric Cars
The cheapest 2026 Suzuki eVitara electric SUV will be about $7200 to $8400 more expensive than a top-of-the-range BYD Atto 2 when the first examples arrive in showrooms mid-year.
In most of Australia, the eVitara is now available to order with "pre-order pricing" of $46,990 drive-away for the front-wheel-drive Motion, and $56,990 drive-away for the all-wheel-drive Ultra.
It applies to the first 100 customers, or before 1 July 2026, whichever comes first.
Once it expires, prices will climb to $49,990 drive-away for the Motion FWD, and $58,990 drive-away for the Ultra AWD nationwide.
The entry-level Suzuki eVitara's pre-order deal is $1000 dearer than the top-spec Vitara petrol mild-hybrid, but it matches a Kia EV3 Air in most states – a car with nearly 100km more claimed range (436km vs 344km), more power, and a five-star, not four-star safety rating.
It is also about $11,700 to $13,230 dearer than the base-model BYD Atto 2, or $7200 to $8400 more than the flagship grade.
Meanwhile, the Ultra AWD's regular price is similar to the BYD Sealion 7 Premium ($57,974 to $60,789), which is in the size category up, with more features and a longer range.
These prices apply to all regions of Australia except Queensland and northern New South Wales, where Suzuki cars are sold by a different distributor.
It runs its launch deals on all orders placed by 31 July 2026, and offers only $2000 off the regular prices, dropping the Motion from $49,990 to $47,990 drive-away, and Ultra AWD from $58,990 to $56,990 drive-away.
It also sells an Ultra front-wheel-drive grade not offered elsewhere, priced from $52,990 drive-away for the first three months, or $54,990 thereafter.
The eVitara is Suzuki's first electric vehicle in Australia, made in India as part of a partnership with Toyota that spawns a similar Urban Cruiser version for overseas markets.
At 4275mm long, 1800mm wide, and 1635mm tall, on a 2700mm wheelbase, it is broadly similar in size to a Mazda CX-3 petrol SUV or BYD Atto 2 EV.
Powering the Motion is a 106kW/193Nm front electric motor and 49kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery, good for a claimed 344km driving range in European WLTP testing.
The Ultra all-wheel-drive grade fits dual motors – 128kW front and 48kW rear – for 135kW and 307Nm combined, claimed to allow its 61kWh LFP battery to offer 396km of WLTP range.
The front-drive Ultra, with 128kW, a 61kWh battery and 426km of claimed WLTP range, won't be offered outside of Queensland and northern NSW.
Suzuki claims a 10 to 80 per cent charging time for all variants of about 45 minutes, while an 11kW AC home charger is said to add the same amount of energy in four hours and 30 minutes for the Motion, or five hours and 30 minutes in the Ultra.
The entry-level variant is fitted as standard with 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, a 10.1-inch touchscreen, 10.25-inch instrument display, climate control, and a 360-degree camera.
Ultra grade features include fabric and leather-look upholstery, heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver's seat, wireless phone charging, and glass roof.
