Up-and-coming tyre company Giti Tire – which supplies rubber to models like the BYD Atto 3 and GWM Haval H6 – is open to customer feedback on its products as it looks to carve out a bigger market presence.

While Giti tyres have been traditionally an entry-level brand, often fitted to base-spec cars, and a point of contention when it comes to affordable models from China, Giti Tire Europe marketing director Stefan Brohs told Drive all feedback is taken on board.

“There are different channels that we use. For example, our technical department, the research and development department, they would have direct contact with account management through the OEMs.

“Everyone acknowledges every time this type of feedback that we generate – it’s a must.

“It’s called tyre development; therefore, you develop something, then you test, and then you have to listen to the feedback of the customer.

“This is really tough work, a lot of testing, development, and in this process, there is very often the feedback loop is integrated.”

While Giti tyres have come to the fore in Australia due their fitment to popular Chinese models, the company was established in 1951 and is among the Top 10 ‘most valuable and strongest’ tyre brands, according to a 2025 survey.

In terms of performance, Giti has been rated the ninth most valuable tyre brand in 2025, ahead of Sailun, but behind Michelin, Bridgestone, Continental, Goodyear, Dunlop, Pirelli, Hankook, and Yokohama.

The Indoesian company, headquartered in Singapore, has close ties with the Chinese car market given its proximity, and works alongside the likes of MG, Zeekr, XPeng, Smart, GWM, and Chery to supply and fit rubber from the factory.

Giti claims it is the original equipment (OE) supplier for 35 passenger vehicles around the world, with their tyres found on the BYD Atto 2, Atto 3, and Dolphin; GWM Haval H6 and Cannon; and Volkswagen ID. Buzz – depending on market.

According to Giti, one in eight ‘new energy vehicles’ – or electrified models – in China are fitted with their tyres.

Giti employs nearly 30,000 people worldwide, and have tyre manufacturing plants in the US, Indonesia, and China.

In terms of opportunities for Giti, it sees both the OE market and tyre refitting segment as potential growth areas.

According to Brohs, Giti will seek more partnerships with car manufacturers – which should see a boost in sales a satisfied customers will continue to stick with the same tyre when needing a replacement.

Giti tyres are also available from JAX Tyres & Auto and Tyreright in Australia, and are positioned as a more affordable alternative to established, European brands.
